Paisatges ordinaris, patrimoni i societat civil
Today, landscape provides the world of heritage with a comprehensive and integrative perspective that allows us to understand a heritage element—whether listed or not—not as an isolated artifact, but as part of a whole, that is, of a landscape that gives it meaning and purpose. Furthermore, we are moving toward more participatory and plural concepts of heritage and landscape, with shared responsibilities, where society is taking on an increasingly important role in assigning heritage value to a specific artifact or a specific landscape. The heritage dimension of the landscape also provides highly relevant information for future planning and management, for local economic development, and is a powerful means of raising public awareness.
