Biannual Seminar 'Landscape and Image. Photography'
Since the invention of photography, it has played a central role as a tool for describing territories and their landscapes. Photography, unlike literature or pictorial representations, ensured the real presence of the author in situ and the faithful representation of reality. Despite its relatively short history, those early photographs and those of today are a tremendous documentary source that allows us to understand landscapes and their evolution. Today, photography is fully present in our daily lives; we are all photographers and have access to images from all over the world. The first edition of the biennial seminar "Landscape and Image" will analyze the role of photography as a tool for interpreting and managing the landscape from an interdisciplinary and international perspective.
