Advice to Government
The landscape catalogues include public consultation as a tool for the involvement and co-responsibility of society in the management and planning of its landscape. This is done through different mechanisms, with the collaboration of the General Directorate of Citizen Participation of the Government of Catalonia.

The Landscape Observatory is taking part in monitoring and advising on the Landscape Charters of the Camprodon Valley, Alt Empordà and the municipalities of the Valley of the Argentona stream and the Valley of the Tenes.

Collaboration with the ministries of Education and of Town and Country Planning and Public Works of the Government of Catalonia in the implementation of teaching material in the educational innovation project "City, territory and landscape", for ESO. The project includes an educational web on landscape as a new section in the Observatory web.

Definition and application of a list of landscape indicators for Catalonia which provide knowledge and give ability to follow up the state of Catalan landscapes and their evolution, the people's satisfaction with their landscape and the effectiveness of public and private initiatives for the improvement of the landscapes.

Landscape has been traditionally linked to the sense of sight. However, sound, smell, taste and touch can also be as important if not more important than sight when perceiving and living a given landscape. How a place sounds gives it its unique identity. It is an essential facet of its landscape.
