Course 'El Paisatge des de l'escala local. Gestió, ordenació i valorització dels espais oberts'

The landscape is increasingly seen as a driver of development, a local attraction and a way to increase the level of quality of life and the well-being of citizens. Landscape policies and tools offer an alternative way of looking at and managing the territory in terms of improving quality and promoting and dynamizing local activities.

At the local level, planning and enhancing open spaces, complex spaces that often host controversial actions, continues to be one of the great challenges. They are places that require alternative readings to the hegemonic and usual ones, and their own strategies. Probably because for many decades there has been a lack of understanding, narration and planning of these spaces, and this forces us to continuously learn, reread, reinterpret and rethink these realities and the way to deal with them.

To understand the logic and idiosyncrasies of open spaces, and to act appropriately, very varied perspectives and very diverse actors are needed. The objective of this course is to train political and technical leaders of local administration in the field of planning, management and enhancement of the landscape, exploring new forms of intervention and management in open spaces, with a focus on urban planning, local revitalization, tourism, or the management of natural spaces and heritage.
