Cartes del paisatge, eina de consens territorial

The conference "Landscape Charters, a Tool for Territorial Consensus" aims to raise awareness of landscape charters, primarily in the regions of Les Garrigues, Urgell, Pla d'Urgell, and Segrià. It does so based on the experience of territories that are currently initiating, promoting, or implementing a landscape charter. Through a debate among several representatives of previously approved landscape charters with years of experience in their development, such as those of Priorat and Conca de Barberà, as well as the Carme Valley (Anoia), which is currently in its infancy, the potential of this tool will be addressed, as well as the challenges and difficulties it may face. The conference is aimed at elected officials, technicians, organizations, and individuals involved in local planning and development.

Landscape charters are instruments for reaching agreements between stakeholders in a territory to promote actions and strategies for landscape improvement and enhancement. This is one of the instruments included in Law 8/2005, of June 8, on the protection, management, and planning of the landscape of Catalonia. They are monitored by the Landscape Observatory, which ensures that they are consistent with the landscape catalogue for their area of activity.
