In July 2005 the Observatory brought the web into operation on landscape themes referring to Catalonia and the world, with the aim of becoming the reference web in Catalonia for everything referring to landscape. The Landscape Observatory web is the principal showcase of the activity which it develops and the Observatory's principal tool for information and public awareness. Translation of the web into Spanish, English and French has helped to make it a reference web around the world, as is shown by the increase in the number of visits from all the continents experienced in recent months and the fact that it has been visited by over 100 different countries in the world.
In this context, the Landscape Observatory web will be growing during 2008 in several fields, among which are:
· Incorporation of the contents of of the Landscape catalogue of Camp de Tarragona (memorandum, files, etc.), once approved by the Ministry de Town and Country Planning and Public Works.
· Activation of consultation through the web for the Landscape catalogue of Comarques Centrals.
· Maintenance of the web for the educational project "City, territory and landscape".
. Incorporation of new dossiers.
· Extension of the directory of institutions and projects on landscape.
· Creation of new sections on news and for the dissemination of information on landscape.
