One of the main tasks of the Landscape Observatory is sensitisation on landscape. For this purpose, it works in coordination with and on the initiative of the General Directorate of Architecture and Landscape of the Ministry of Town and Country Planning and Public Works and the General Directorate of Educational Innovation of the Ministry of Education of the Catalan Government in the implementation of the web "City, territory, landscape" which offers innovative teaching material for schoolchildren in compulsory secondary education.
The aim of the project, innovative in the Catalan and European field, is:
. To sensitise and to educate schoolchildren in compulsory secondary education in the urban knowledge, land culture and the landscape values.
. To promote new technologies related to learning.
. To reinforce basic competences planned for this stage.
The teaching material, prepared by people with recognised standing in the subject, consists of:
· Twelve prints which allow the pupils to work in teams, interpreting twelve Catalan landscapes, representative of the country's diversity of landscapes.
· Instruction by the teaching staff with activities to be carried out by the pupils.
· A web page for the project, created by the Landscape Observatory, which broadens and goes more deeply into the content of the twelve prints referred to and encourages the use of the new information technology in the learning processes.
