The Landscape Observatory, aware of the growing interest of Catalan society and, specifically, of the local political authorities, in the preservation of the landscape, is supporting the development of landscape charters of the Camprodon Valley (Ripollès), the municipalities of the Valley of the Argentona stream (Maresme), the Alt Empordà, the Valley of the Tenes (Vallès Oriental) and the Priorat, which are backed by the local authorities of the areas with the support of the Ministry of Town and Country Planning and Public Works, following the principles of the Act for the Protection, Planning and Management of the Landscape. In these cases, the Observatory is in charge of the functions of monitoring and advice from experience, ensuring that the maps are coherent with the landscape catalogues of the corresponding areas (Comarques Gironines, Regió Metropolitana de Barcelona and Comarques Centrals). These charters are intended to serve as models for other areas which wish to undertake similar experiences.
